January 26
Rockdale VFD will be "All Fired up at the Ranch" In Rockdale Saturday, January 26th, Starting at 7PM. There will be live music by the Billy Holt Band. All proceeds go towards the purchase of a 1929 Seagrave fire truck that served the City of Rockdale in 1930. There is a $10 admission charge.

Cameron VFW presents Texas Bobby Dean and Timeless Country Band on January 26th from 8PM to Midnight. Doors open at 6:30PM and tickets are $15 at the door. The kitchen will be open. For reservations or ticket information, call 254-295-6222.

Exploring Resources for Discovering Our Roots, sponsored by the Texas Czech Genealogical Society, will be January 26th at the Caldwell Civic Center. Registration and refreshments begin at 8AM, with programs from 9AM-4PM. TCGS membership is not required. All tickets at the door are $55. Save by registering early. Lunch is included. Texas Farm Bureau is holding a contest regarding stories of dependable, hard working Ford Vehicles. Submit a story and a photo or video and the winner of each category will win $3,000 and the runner up will receive $1,000. February 2
The Granger Volunteer Fire Department fundraiser gun raffle will be February 2nd beginning at 5PM at SS. Cyril and Methodius Catholic Church Hall in Granger. The social opens the raffle with a BBQ dinner included. Social and dinner tickets are sold separately. Raffle tickets are a $20 donation. A total of 10 guns will be raffled off. All winners must be 18 years of age. You need not be present to win.

February 4
Yoe High School Seniors of 2019 will be hosting a Father-Daughter night of music, dancing, and memories fit for a king and princess from 6-8PM Monday, February 4th, at Yoe High Cafeteria. Special flowers for your princess will be available for $1. The cost is $15 for a father and daughter. The cost is $20 at the door. Additional princesses are $5. The Republican Women of MIlam County will be having their Independence Day Dinner and Program Thursday, February 7th, starting at 6PM at the Cameron VFW Hall. Guest Speaker will be Army Staff Sergeant Earl Granville. Tickets are $50 per person and includes Kostroun's prime rib and all the trimmings. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is hosting their annual money giveaway from 5-10PM on Saturday, February 9th, at the Civic Center at 408 S. Columbus in Cameron. Tickets are $125 and include drinks and a catered meal from Circle S BBQ. Your ticket also enters you for a chance to win up to $10,000 in prizes. No one under 21 will be allowed. To purchase tickets, contact Fire Chief Henry Horelica, Phillip Dohnalik, or Dustin Thomas. The group is also taking donations for their live and silent auction that night.

February 16
The Milano Volunteer Fire Department Chili Supper and fundraiser gun raffle will be 4-9PM February 16th, with the gun raffle at 7:30PM. Silent and live auctions will also be held. Adult tickets are $8 and kids under 12 are $4. Kids 2 and under get in free. A total of 9 guns and a gift card will be drawn for. Tickets are $5 each or 5 for $20. Need not be present to win.

February 19
The 85th annual Cameron Chamber of Commerce banquet will be Tuesday, February 19th, at the Williams Event Center at 102 E. 1st in Cameron. A wine and cheese social opens the night at 6PM, with dinner served at 6:30PM. A program and awards will follow. Tickets are $25 each. To reserve a table, contact the Chamber at 697-4979.

February 23
There will be a Mardi Gras Bash at the Simon and George Hall Saturday, February 23rd, starting at 6PM. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for kids 18 and under. You can purchase tickets at the Milam County Extension Office, Rockdale Reporter, or Reodenbeck Farm and Ranch in Thorndale. There will be Mardi Gras Cuisine, door prizes, auction items, and games for the kids. All proceeds benefit the Christine Holcombe Memorial Scholarship Fund.

March 2
There will be an Irrigation class on Saturday, March 2nd, from 9AM-Noon at the District Office in Milano. This free class wil be on how to add automatic irrigation to your rainwater harvest System.

March 16
The 14th annual Luncheon With Style, Step In To Spring with Style, will be 11AM Saturday, March 16th, at the Temple College Pavilion at 126 East Marvin Felder, presented by Bell Extension Education Association. The luncheon will be followed by style show fashions provided by Cochran, Blair, and Potts of Belton. Tickets are $15 and kids under 5 are free. March 22
There will be a rainwater harvesting 101 workshop March 22nd, from 1-4PM at the District Office in Milano. In the workshop you'll learn the basics of rainwater harvesting and how you can install your own home system, Attendees will qualify for the POSGCD Rainwater Harvest Grant. Rosebud Senior Center is open from 9AM to Noon, Monday-Friday. We have games (Bingo, Dominoes, Cards, etc.) each day. Box meals are served with a one-day notice. The Milam Regional Farmers Market will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in March through November from 9am to 1pm at The Yards of Cameron. There will be fresh produce, meat, eggs, bread and other baked goodies along with artisans, mushroom logs, crafts, woodworking and much more. Karaoke will be held Friday at the Cameron VFW Post 2010. The Canteen will also be open to the public Tuesday through Saturday from 645PM until .... Dart tourneys will be held every Wednesday and Friday. Alsdo accepting donations for the Scholarship Fund.

The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to repond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday. The Yoemen Band Booster Club meets every 2nd Monday at 6PM in the Yoe High Band Hall which is next to the Performing Arts Center (PAC). The public is welcome. Memberships are also available for $10 per person. Upcoming meetings are Oct 10th, Nov 7th, Dec 12th, Jan 9th, Feb 13th, Mar 6th, Apr 10th, and May 8th.

Monthly Meetings of San Andres Masonic Lodge #170 AF&AM in Cameron, located at 106 West 6th Street, will meet the 2nd Thursday of each month. A meal is at 6:30PM, with the meeting to follow.

Milano Jamboree will be held the last Saturday of every month at 7PM in the Milano Senior Citizens Center.

Blessings from GOD food Pantry will distribute food to citizens on the first and third tuesday of each month. The first Tuesday, hours are 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the third Tuesday, 8 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Enrollment for GED classes is getting underway. Classes will be held Tuesday and Thursday from 6-8PM. ESL classes will also be held. ESL classes will be Tuesday and Thursday from 4-6PM. Crafting Galore will meet the 2nd and 4th Monday of each month, from 12:30-4PM roughly at the First United Methodist Church Family Life Center located at 111 N Travis in Cameron. This is a community group for all Handcrafters. If you're working on a project, competed 1 and want to share it, or just looking for ideas or instruction, this is the group for you. Use the side door and bring a small snack to share. Coffee and tea are available.
