There will be a benefit and birthday party for Charles Taylor from 2-8PM on August 26th at the Elgin VFW Hall in Elgin. The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service in Williamson County present their annual Williamson County Beef Cattle Symposium and Industry Trade Show on Friday, September 8th, at the Williamson County Expo Center. Registration starts at 7:15AM, with presentations starting up at 8AM and concluding by 2PM. The cost is $10, payable at the door. Lunch is included. The 36th annual Founders Day Celebration in Gause will be September 9th at the Gause Community Picnic Tables. A trail ride will begin at 9AM at Gause ISD and a Parade will begin at 10AM. Kristi's Krusaders 8th annual Rally for the Walk to benefit Kristi's medical expenses in her fight against multiple sclerosis will be Saturday, September 9th at Nat's in Milano. The meeting of the Rockdale ALCOA Retirees for 2017 will be Thursday, September 14th. The meeting will take place in the Lake Training Center. Set up begins at 4PM and Doors open at 5PM. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to repond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday.
