The 19th annual Milam County Crimestoppers First Street Warehouse of Horrors in Cameron will be October 14th and 28th from 8PM until. Entry is $10 per person, or grab a $100 speed pass for 6 people and go straight to the front of the line.
Yoe High will be hosting a FAFSA night October 17th from 5:30-6:30PM. All Seniors and their Parents are encouraged to attend. Temple College Financial Aide personnel will be on hand to assist in this application process.
Veterans who need legal advice or legal assistance can visit a free legal clinic scheduled in Temple on Friday, October 20th, from 1-4PM. at the Olin E. Teague VA Medical Center in Temple. No appointment is necessary. Any veteran, or spouse of a deceased veteran, can receive guidance and consultation at the clinic from a volunteer attorney. Financial guidelines apply for additional free legal representation. Milam County Genealogical Society is teaming up with the Lucy Patterson Library in Rockdale to present a FREE genealogy lock-in through a live-feed with the Waco-McLennan County Library Genealogy Center from 11AM-5PM October 20th. Subjects will include researching Orphan Train riders, beginngers guides to documenting family history, discovering local history, Texans during the Republic, and connecting DNA matches. Ebco General Contractor will be hosting a Grand Opening on Monday, October 23rd. They're located at 804 East 1st. St. in Cameron, right across the street from KMIL. The event will last from 4-6PM on Monday.
Cameron Baseball Associationwill be meeting October 25th at the Cameron Fire dDepartment. The meeting will start at 6PM.

You're invited to join Relay for Life Milam County for their Survivors Dinner on Sunday, October 29th at the Fellowship Hall of Peace Lutheran Church in Rockdale. Registration starts at 5:30PM and dinner is served at 6PM. There will also be a Halloween costume contest. Buckholts Fire Department will be hosting Trunk or Treat at the Buckholts Fire Station. This event will be on October 31st starting at 530PM. Costumes are welcome and the community is welcome to participate in the Trunk or Treat. Hot dogs and drinks will be served.
This year will be the last Spooktacular held on the current Heritage Square. The downtown park will receive upgrades and a redesign expected to be complete in June 2018.
On Oct. 31, the annual Halloween event will be held in downtown Taylor for children to trick-or-treat with the community.
"The reason the city does this is to provide a safe area for the kids to have a good time," said Main Street Manager Deby Lannen.
Lannen said the format has not changed from previous years.
"We're going to do it on Heritage Square rather than close the streets, because it has always been a good way to make it work," she said.
The community is invited to setup a vendor booth with candy or games for children. Organizations are also invited to have food booths. Regular booths are free and are not allowed to charge for games or candy for trick-or-treaters. Food vendor booths are available for $25.
The last day to register for a booth is Friday, Oct. 27.
Spooktacular begins at 6 p.m. and ends around 9 p.m. Michael Craig will provide music during the event.
The Friends of the Taylor Public Library will help with the costume contest again this year. The contest will be held at 7 p.m. in the gazebo on the square.

San Gabriel Christian Church will be hosting its third annual, "CHRISTMAS IN SAN GABRIEL", from 9AM-4PM Saturday, November 4th at the San Gabriel Christian Church Family Life Center. All interested vendors and area churches are invited. Vendors can set up by 7AM and the vendor fee is $30 per space.
The Cameron American Legion Veterans Day Breakfast will be 6-10AM Friday, November 10th at the Legion Hut at Ledbetter Park. Adults are $8 and kids are $4. All kids under 5 will be free. Tickets are available at Cam-Tex Hardware, Cameron Cleaners, Main Printing, or at the door. The Ladies Auxiliary will also be hosting a raffle.
Milam Regional Farmers Market closes out the season with a very special Veterans Day and Thanksgiving Market from 9AM-1PM November 11th. Many vendors will offer Veterans specials and Thanksgiving décor and tasty treats for your family gatherings. The Milam Regional Farmers Market will return in March 2018!
Rockdale Chamber of Commerce will have a Gun Raffle as part of the Rockdale Uncorked Wine Tasting on November 18th. You need not be present to win. Three firearms are up for grabs. Tickets are $20 or 6 for $100.
C.H. Yoe High School Class of 2018 Senior Celebration is selling tickets for a chance to win a 2018 Ford Focus valued up to $19995. Color and Model to be decided by the winner at Johnson Ford in Temple. The winner is responsible for tax, title, and license. There will only be 300 tickets sold for $100 each. Contact any senior or senior parent to get a chance to win. The winner will be drawn on January 27, 2018. Winner doesn't need to be present to win.

The Milam Regional Farmers Market will be held the 2nd and 4th Saturdays in March through November from 9am to 1pm at The Yards of Cameron. There will be fresh produce, meat, eggs, bread and other baked goodies along with artisans, mushroom logs, crafts, woodworking and much more. Karaoke will be held every Friday at the Cameron VFW Post 2010. The Canteen will also be open to the public Tuesday through Friday from 5PM to Midnight and Saturdays from 10:30AM to 1AM. Dart tourneys will be held every Wednesday and Domino and Pool tourneys will be on Saturdays.

The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to repond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday.
