The Texas Czech Genealogical Society (TCGS) invites everyone to attend the September 29th program "Celebrating the 100 Year Anniversary of the Founding of Czechoslovakia and the U.S. and Czech Partnership" to be held at the Caldwell Civic and Visitor Center. Registration begins at 8AM, with the program from 9AM-4PM. Membership in TCGS is not required to attend. Speaker presentations center around World War I and the role played by immigrant communities, including Texas Czechs.

The Rockdale Fall Music Festival will be October 6th in downtown Rockdale. The 1st annual festival will include a full day of carnival booths, a pumpkin patch, food booths, vintage cars and campers, vendors of all sorts, and live music for the whole family. Roxli Doss, 10 year old grand daughter of James & Denice Doss and daughter of Scott and Gena Doss, was recently diagnosed with an inoperable brain tumor. The Cameron Volunteer Fire Department is now accepting applications for membership in the department. No prior fire service qualifications are needed. Applicants must be 18 years of age, no criminal history, have a drivers license, a vehicle to respond with, live within a few miles of Cameron, and most of all be able to repond to fires and attend meetings and drills each Monday.
